Riverside's Alvord School District Convenes to Find New Superintendent. Ferguson Does it Again!

Superintendent Nick Ferguson (above) will retire at the end of June. The Alvord Unified School District board has a special meeting to hear presentations from four firms that seek to help the district search for a new superintendent.

This is the fourth retirement Ferguson has taken in his last four terms. He has used the euphemism "retire," to quit school districts in bad shape. He has added nothing to these districts to help their respective plights as he's come and gone, Taking away nearly $600,000 in salary and benefits over that time. He is a professional "stand in."

Ferguson was the Superintendent at Moreno Valley USD when it was seeking independence from Riverside County Office of Education, a very rare occurrence. No one really understood the reasoning behind the five year struggle, but the grand Jury investigation tells more. Ferguson signed many replies to the Grand Jury that were... well... questionable in the accuracy of their respective statements. If the Riverside County Grand Jury had been more tenacious, it appears from the emails and letters, that there may have been a falsehood or two told to convince the Jury, RCOE and the state department of education. In all fairness he had help, lots of help, from Assistant Superintendent of Fiscal Services, B. Crank and the School Board as it existed during the time.

The Alvord board met at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, March 14, in the district office board room at 10365 Keller Ave., Riverside to hear proposals from Leadership Associates, Dave Long & Associates, Education Consultants, and Hazard, Young & Attea Associates. The fees rang from $19,000 plus expenses to $25,950.

Alvord covers parts of west Riverside and east Corona. Home to Norte Vista and La Sierra High Schools.
